Q. What is your funding strategy?
A. The CHS Foundation invests in the future of agriculture and rural America through a strong commitment to education and leadership development, rather than, for example, the arts, commercial interests or charity. Funding is program-orientated and is focused on five areas: University Partnerships, Rural Youth Leadership Development, Returning Value to Rural America, Cooperative Education and Farm and Agricultural Safety.

Q. What program area should I apply for funds?
A. All contribution request are submitted through the same online application, with the acceptation of the Cooperative Education Program area. The CHS Foundation staff will then determine which program area best fits your request.

A. The CHS Foundation only accepts applications through its online system. To apply, visit the How to Apply page.

Q. Where can I find information about scholarships?
A. The CHS Foundation does provide scholarships. Information about this program can be found in the Scholarship Seeker section of the web site.

Q. Is there a scholarship program for dependents of CHS employees?
A. Neither the CHS Foundation nor CHS provide specific scholarships for dependents of CHS employees. However, dependents may be eligible for CHS Foundation scholarships if they meet certain criteria. All scholarship winners are named by an external, independent selection committee.

Q. What geography does the CHS Foundation reach with its giving?
A. The CHS Foundation supports national efforts related to its mission. Funding is
also available for programs within the CHS trade territory for regional, multi-state or state-wide projects.

Giving outside national efforts typically reaches the following states: Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska,
North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming

Depending on circumstances, other geography may be considered.
